Rowers, non-rowers and paddlers alike enjoy spending time together at our boathouse located on the historic Lawrence Fisher Mansion property and Grayhaven Canal . Enjoy indoor rowing (or your favorite workout) and join members on the patios for coffee & breakfast…maybe a little fishing…. club activities and social events are available for this delightful group.

This is a light and fun way to re-enter rowing. This is not a test of skill or strength. It’s about getting together with like minded people for a casual weekend of fun in boats.

Skill requirement: This is not a beginner learn to row, but a refresher for scullers with previous experience.

FEE: Camp & Registration $140

DWRA is celebrating 22 years!

Detroit Waterfront Rowing Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing in Detroit. We educate and train athletes in sculling.

DWRA is located on the grounds of the historic Lawrence Fisher estate. Club members row on the Detroit River, Lake St. Clair and a network of scenic, protected canals.

Renee I. Adams

Certified USRowing Coach, III

Renee discovered rowing as an adult. Her training began with coaching conferences in Canada and the United States where she earned Level III certification. Learning from high performance coaches during her international travels has been her greatest asset. She’s been training athletes for over 22 years now, and continues to build great rowers at any age.

Ryan Kingsley

DWRA Youth Coach

Ryan started his rowing career as a Junior at the Detroit Boat Club in the mid 90's.  Some notable finishes include taking gold in the Junior Men's 8+ at the CSSRA championships in 96' and winning the coveted Calder Cleland Memorial Trophy in the Senior Men's 8+ in 97'.  Ryan went on to row at the University of Wisconsin and took bronze in the Men’s Open 4+ at 98’ IRA National Championships.  Ryan is a member of the Grosse Pointe Community and has coached various youth rowing programs for the last 10 years.
